British people are renowned for talking about the weather and so far this year there has been plenty to talk about.

After suffering the recent ‘Beast from the East’, the United Kingdom has seen some much needed, glorious sunshine. Many news outlets have reported that May this year has been the hottest since records began over 100 years ago.

Throughout the UK, people endured what was initially perceived to potentially be the coldest April on record. There were several weather warnings throughout various parts of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland ensuring that people were prepared in advance. It was only a few short weeks later that Britain had a glimmer of warmer weather and the temperatures significantly increased, with London reporting a high of 29.1c in St. James Park.

It looks like the UK are going to continue enjoying this heat, at least for the near future, and this has people now wondering if it is worth traveling abroad for the sunshine. More people are making enquiries about taking a ‘staycation’, holidays in their home country.
