The summer holidays are fast approaching once again. If you haven’t already booked your summer vacation, now is the time to do it.

It can be hard to find a holiday that is suitable, as well as fun, for the whole family. You want both the adults and the children to be entertained and this isn’t always easy. Theme parks and adventure parks offer something for everyone. We have taken a look at some of the world’s most popular parks where kids and parents alike will enjoy a thrill-seeking, action packed experience.

Disneyland - California, USA

This hugely popular theme park was Walt Disney’s first. Almost 17 million people visit here every year. Disneyland still has many of its original attractions, such as the Disneyland Railroad and Peter Pan’s Flight.

As with all themes parks, Disneyland, continued in growth and popularity over the years adding the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain and many more iconic attractions.

Head down Main Street to reach the crowd pleasing Sleeping Beauty Castle before moving onto Adventureland, Mickey’s Toon town and Critter County.

For all you Indiana Jones fans out there, a must see is the Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye. This attraction opened in 1995 and takes you on a realistic motion vehicle system that can only be described as stunning.


Disneyland - Tokyo, Japan

A Disney fan favorite with a twist. Generally speaking, when people think of any park associated with Walt Disney, California, Florida and France spring to mind.

Disneyland, Tokyo, is definitely a strong contender in the popularity stakes, with over 17 million visitors each year. Experiencing all the Disney favorites by day and then exploring the variety of things that Tokyo has to offer at night is a huge incentive to many.

This park first opened its doors in 1983 and has been expanded quite dramatically ever since. The layout of Disneyland, Tokyo, is the same as in California and includes Splash Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Pooh’s Hunny Hunt is definitely something that shouldn’t be missed, this is a trackless ride and gives a unique twist on Disney's dark rides.

Tivoli Gardens - Copenhagen, Denmark

Tivoli Gardens is the second-oldest amusement park in the world. Live entertainment, eating venues and rides were all on offer when this park first opened in 1843.

The park has many historic attractions and structures despite a number of buildings being destroyed in 1943. Investment over recent years has meant that the park now includes Daemonen, The Demon, a floorless roller coaster that has three inversions in its compact circuit and many other modern thrill rides.


Siam Park - Tenerife, Canary Islands

No adventure park list would be complete without including a water park.

Tenerife is home to the award-winning Siam Park. This popular water park has the largest collection Thai themed buildings outside of Thailand and this is evident throughout the park.

For any adrenaline junkies out there, The Tower of Power is a must. You can reach a speed of 80km/h on this 28m high slide, passing through an aquarium of sharks and stingray as the ride comes to an end.
