Home to some of the most familiar landmarks in the world, Sydney is the ideal destination place for those who love to combine their love of the outdoors with a truly eclectic city life.

Sydney is a stunningly diverse, cosmopolitan and vibrant city, offering the full range of culture, cuisine, and sport in a location that truly is to die for. It is a city offering something to everyone - from couples and families to backpackers and large groups.

The staggering natural harbour forms the centre point of the city. Here, high status homes and lush green open spaces look over the huge expanse of sparkling blue water. Look in one direction and you will see the endlessly impressive Harbour Bridge, in the other direction sits the iconic Sydney Opera House. There are a number of wonderful beaches within just a few minutes, including the famous surf paradise that is Bondi and the hipster favourite Manly. Also within easy reach are the verdant wine regions and of course the gorgeous Blue Mountains.

Sydney offers a very different experience of Australia when compared to other of its key cities such as Brisbane or Melbourne. Sydney is truly a city for living life to the fullest and enjoying every minute. It has a superb climate, with very hot summers and winters that are warm for the most part.

In the southern hemisphere, summer starts to kick in around the middle of December, and cools off (comparatively speaking) again in May. Sunshine and rainfall hours remain pretty consistent through the year.

There is so much to see and so in Sydney that it can be quite overwhelming. A great place to start is by joining an organised climb of the harbour bridge - the views from the top are simply staggering, and a great way to get your bearings.

If you are an opera fan make sure you book tickets to take in a show at Opera House. One million plus people do so every year, just to give an idea of its huge popularity. Families with younger kids should definitely take some time to visit Taronga Zoo in the city. Other great family friendly attractions include the aquarium, located at Darling Harbour, the wonderful State Theatre, and the vibrancy of the food and shopping that is waiting to be discovered the city’s Chinatown district.

Sydney is made up of a number clearly defined districts including ‘Paddo’

( Paddington) which is packed with cool cafes and chic boutiques. Then there's ‘The Cross’ (Kings Cross), which has been greatly regenerated over the last couple of years and is emerging as one of the best districts for a night out in the city. Foodies must head to the sophisticated Surry Hills, which is absolutely packed with restaurants catering to all tastes.
