Architecture through the Centuries

The glinting Mediterranean laps the beautiful beaches - the perfect setting for a stroll or bike ride, before cooling off with a leisurely swim. Barcelona boasts an excellent variety of water sports - from kayaking to paddle boarding. It is also well worth taking a boat trip - particularly if you time it with the wonderful sunsets that characterise this part of Spain. Outside the city, there are miles and miles of unspoilt countryside to explore - perfect for hikers and bikers.

As the sun sets, Barcelona truly comes to life. Many of the hotels have high terraces with fantastic views across the city - the perfect place to enjoy a pre-dinner glass of chilled white wine or a cocktail. If you are drawn to the beach, you will find a whole plethora of more rustic bars.

Barcelona has a well-earned reputation for the quality of its live music scene. You will hear snatches of traditional music merging with the sub bass from the many hip bars and club in the centre of town, with strains of competing jazz and indie completing the melting pot of styles.
