Teen heartthrob and naughty boy, Justin Bieber, has racked up plenty of column inches in his latest tour Down Under. After getting up to all sorts of antics in Brazil, he has turned up in Australia with clearly no intention of turning down the rebelliousness. One of his latest escapades has been to spray paint the exterior walls of a hotel he was staying on the Gold Coast. Although some reports thought that this was unlawful, the QT hotel did in fact get asked for, and give permission, for the unique artwork to go ahead. It's the city council who are none too pleased and ordering the offensive graffiti (as they see it) to be removed. Who will win in this fight will be interesting to observe, as the hotel have discovered they have a prime tourist attraction on their hands, not least with the legions of dedicated Bieber fans, or Beliebers, as they call themselves.

Quickly trying to make the most of their star guest's contribution to their décor, while they've still got it, the hotel have organised a local street art competition. Local street artists in Surfers Paradise are queuing up for the chance to shake and rattle their cans alongside the murals left by the young megastar. The hotel put out a statement on their facebook page clarifying that Justin had asked, and they had given him the go-ahead, and that they believe it is a "wonderful addition to the colourful Gold Coast arts scene." The town mayor, less impressed, demanded Bieber clean up his act, either that, or put on a free carol concert for the city's deprived, to show that he was contrite. Anyone who wants to see the jolly and cartoon-ish designs should hurry on over to Queensland as fast as they can, just in case the walls get whitewashed again. Meanwhile, it will take more than a can of paint to whitewash over the reputation Justin Bieber has been making for himself as he tours the southern hemisphere, chalking up one naughty escapade after another.

He was also seen going for a surfing lesson at beautiful Wategoes Bay, at Byron Bay in Northern New South Wales. One of his bodyguards took offense at some of those watching on and took another surfer's phone from him. It seems wherever he goes he can't help drawing attention to himself, or sometimes, just drawing.
